WORKHORSE® chains provide reliable strength and reliability for bucket elevators

In cement, mining, fertilizer and industrial aggregate applications, chain bucket elevators are used to transport bulk materials vertically. Harsh environments like this usually challenge system reliability and require unique innovative chain solutions. It is usually a challenge to balance sufficient strength and effective protection against corrosion and wear characteristics, but it is certainly feasible, and it should be actively sought to improve the reliability and predictability of elevator operation.

In order to run easily and efficiently, please ensure that your bucket elevator chain is designed with the following qualities in mind:

Tsubaki's WORKHORSE chain is designed as the industrial "main force" of the elevator chain part. It is specially designed to resist the abrasion and harsh forces of aggregate elevators. Tsubaki's WORKHORSE series are made of high-quality, high-strength and heat-treated steel, with first-class strength grades, and exhibit excellent wear resistance even in harsh environments. The 5000 series are specially developed for anti-wear single-chain and double-chain centrifugal systems, while the 4000 series are suitable for double-chain continuous unloading systems. The Pony series are mainly used for medium-sized elevator applications.

High interference press fit can provide significant fatigue resistance and market-leading stability. Advanced upgrades include stainless steel and/or plated pins and bushings, as well as various types of joint seals to help prevent wear and corrosive contaminants. Tsubaki's patented SJ3™-sealed joint technology and its proprietary Titan®XL-wear-resistant surface treatment are common upgrades to the WORKHORSE series of chains. Both technologies have been thoroughly proven to extend chain life in the most demanding applications.

Tsubaki also offers a diverse portfolio of casting, assembly and polymer bucket products, including standard and custom designs, suitable for almost any OEM system. To ensure simple and quick installation, Tsubaki can provide pre-assembled buckets and chains. This also helps to ensure that all assembled parts are assembled correctly before reaching the site. WORKHORSE sprockets and BS-F series backstops can also be used with WORKHORSE chain components.
